NABVETS Better Life Chapter 72 is dedicated to helping homeless veterans achieve a better life. We help veterans find housing, food, mental and physical help. The services we provide are sponsored through government and private agencies.
Better Life Chapter 72 will not stand by and watch the Veterans in our city go without the proper help. Veterans served our country and risked their lives for our freedom. Better Life Chapter 72 refuse to see Veterans live in boxes, under bridges and on the streets of San Diego, CA. Our main and sole purpose is in our name.
We are devoted to bringing awareness to the community about our forgotten brave man and women who served our country, the homeless veterans. We are dedicated to helping veterans achieve a better quality of life.
Together Everyone Achieves More

Stand Down 2011 San Diego, CA
According to Veteran Village of San Diego (2012):
"Stand Down was started with belief in the triumph
of the human spirit over extraordinary odds. It grew
out of a conviction that the overwhelming number of
homeless veterans on the streets of America is
unacceptable, and that the veteran community
itself must respond. Stand Down is an intervention
that was conceived from the ground up specifically
for veterans, by veterans.Stand Down has helped
thousands of homeless veterans since its inception in
1988. In 2011, 928 homeless veterans utilized the services
at Stand Down. "
"You don't leave anybody outside the wire. If you've got wounded outside the wire, you go get them, regardless of the cost."
Stand Down Founders, Robert Van Keuren and Dr. Jon Nachison
